Michael Blackson is an actor and comedian who is known for his roles in the films "Next Friday" and "Friday After Next". He also has a successful stand-up career, with several Comedy Central specials to his name. Blackson is currently on tour, with upcoming shows in cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Miami. Blackson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1972. He got his start in stand-up comedy in the early 1990s, and soon became a regular at comedy clubs throughout the country. In 1999, he made his TV debut on "Def Comedy Jam". Blackson's big break came in 2000, when he starred in the comedy film "Next Friday".
Blackson has since appeared in a number of other films, including "Friday After Next" (2002), "Trippin' (1999)", "The House Bunny" (2008), and "Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta!" (2012). He's also starred in the TV series "The Boondocks" (2005-2014) and "Black Jesus" (2014-present).
As a stand-up comedian, Blackson has performed on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn", "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", and "Conan". He's also released several comedy specials, including "Michael Blackson: I'ma Be Me" (2007), "Michael Blackson: The African King of Comedy" (2012), and "Michael Blackson: Born Suspect" (2016).
